Brookelyn and Joey were engaged on a February evening at the Greenville Downtown Airport!
Joey had shared his engagement idea with his mom, who wanted a photographer to be there. Once she found my blog, she realized that the location Joey wanted might have a lot of people, and she knew how Joey wouldn’t want a ton of people watching. She looked around on my blog and found where I’d mentioned that the Greenville Downtown Airport was on my bucket list for places to take engagement photos in the upstate. She told me that Joey was a plane mechanic and had a pilot license, and that he would love any idea that incorporated planes at all. After lots of planning, Joey coordinated flying up with a friend who was also a pilot, proposing in front of the plane after they landed, and taking a limo ride to a nice restaurant to celebrate.
The date we originally set ended up not working out because we got a big snowstorm the day before and we couldn’t guarantee that it would be safe to land there that day. The day we ended up doing instead was Super Bowl Sunday, which might explain why there wasn’t any other plane activity until after the proposal. The weather ended up being great for early February, and it was so quiet until we heard on the radio that the plane was getting close. Ruben drove the sprinter van right up to where they stepped out, and he had a bouquet of roses ready for Brookelyn after she said yes. After taking some photos in and around the plane, Brookelyn and Joey shared a drink in the sprinter van as Ruben drove them to Hall’s Chophouse.
