Elopement in Greenville, South Carolina

Greenville, South Carolina is such a unique city for an elopement. It has most of the things that you'd find in a city, but one thing sets it apart: the 20-foot waterfall in the middle of downtown.

I did Tori and Michael's wedding photos almost exactly five years ago, and their engagement photos the summer before that. They're always so fun to work with and I was so happy to do photos with them again! They're good at coordinating their outfits and committing to unique color themes, and this time was no different. Tori wore a long burgundy dress and Michael wore a suit with a tie that matched.

We got to Falls Park early on a Sunday morning. Between the time of day and the chance of rain, Falls Park was pretty much empty. We had their ceremony in front of the Reedy River Falls, which was pretty loud with the rain we had that morning. Tori and Michael enjoyed some donuts from Scout's Doughnuts as "wedding cake," and they taste just as good as they look! We took some photos around the Liberty Bridge, the Eugenia Duke Bridge, the Medusa Tree, and the Peace Center. Once it started raining, we got out my umbrellas and kept on going!

How would you like to see a Broadway show after you elope? The Peace Center in downtown Greenville hosts several Broadway tours each year, and they had just announced the Broadway shows that would come through next season. We took some photos with the Broadway posters, like Hamilton because it's an easily recognizable logo and Clue because Tori and Michael had just seen it a few days earlier.

We went to M. Judson Booksellers, a historic building in downtown Greenville that's now a bookstore and coffee shop, and found some books about Greenville and the surrounding area. I realized Taylor Swift's new album was playing while we were looking through the newly released books--two things we would remember later that were relevant to the specific date. For the "reception," we had brunch at Passerelle Bistro, a French restaurant at the end of Liberty Bridge that overlooks the Reedy River Falls.

My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 47 of our state parks. Sometimes we wear hiking boots, sometimes we wear dress shoes, and sometimes we’re barefoot in the surf.

One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.

I can’t wait to meet you!
