Furman University Engagement | Callie & Caleb

Callie and Caleb were engaged at Furman University!

They say that there's power in numbers, and for Caleb and Callie, that number is 16. They like that number because they began dating on the 16th of the month, so Caleb knew he wanted to propose to her on the 16th of the month.

Caleb liked the idea of proposing at the rose garden at Furman University, but he had never been there before, even though he and Callie both grew up in the upstate. The rose garden is so beautiful at this time of year, and I knew that a proposal here would just be incredible. Since I hadn't been there in a while, I scoped it out a few days beforehand and sent Caleb a photo with an X in the spot in front of the gazebo that I thought he should stop for the proposal.

On this beautiful Friday evening in August, Caleb and Callie went to downtown Greenville to have dinner at Soby's. They grabbed some dessert from Carmella's to go, then took a walk through Furman. Once they got in front of the gazebo in the rose garden, Caleb got down on one knee and asked Callie to marry him!

When I first talked to Caleb, he had also mentioned wanting to have mountains in their engagement photos, so we walked partway around the lake to a stunning view of the mountains behind the lake and the bell tower. We took some photos there until the sun went down, and we just narrowly missed the rain.

Enjoy some photos from Callie and Caleb’s engagement at Furman University, and shoutout to Alex Stewart for capturing this proposal on video!

Ready for the best day ever?

My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.

One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.

I can’t wait to meet you!
