Bre and Eric were engaged at sunrise at Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina!
Eric and Bre live near Charleston, but they love the mountains and decided to take a long weekend trip to Greenville. Since the chapel’s schedule is only available two weeks in advance and they were planning the trip farther in advance than that, Eric decided to reserve the chapel to make sure they could get in while they were in the area. He made the reservation for sunrise, which I think is the best time of day to be there since the sun comes up behind the cross.
The temperature was at a record high that day, but at sunrise, the weather was absolutely perfect. I got there about 10 minutes before they did, so I had the quiet sunrise all to myself for a minute. Right as I started to see red in the sky, I knew that this was about to be the prettiest proposal. It was just us, the mountains, the breeze, and the sunrise. After Bre and Eric sat in the front row of the chapel for a few minutes, Eric suggested taking a selfie in front of the cross. As Bre took a video, Eric got the ring out of his pocket and proposed! Bre said she was NOT expecting it to happen that day! She had her nails painted a beautiful purple that day though.
Since the chapel was reserved, we could take our time. They could relax and take in the sunrise together. We could take nice, wide photos without worrying about getting in anyone else’s photos or having other people in ours. The sun was so red as it came up over the mountains! After the proposal, Bre and Eric went to Tandem Creperie for breakfast and checked out Greenville for a few days.

Ready for the best day ever?
My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.
One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.
I can’t wait to meet you!
