Caitlyn and Dylan were engaged at Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina! About a week earlier, Caitlyn said she had a dream where she saw a ring and a cross. Little did she know, that’s exactly what Dylan was planning!
Dylan wanted to propose to Caitlyn on a specific date because it’s the anniversary of the day he lost his dad, and he wanted to remember something happy on that date too. They flew from Florida to Charlotte to stay with a friend, then spent a couple nights in Greenville so they could spend some time in the mountains. On Sunday, they went to church and hiked to Raven Cliff Falls, the tallest waterfall in South Carolina. The trailhead for Raven Cliff was close to Pretty Place Chapel, so they got there close to sunset. It wasn’t too crowded or loud at the chapel, so they read their Bible together for a bit before people moved away from the cross and Dylan suggested taking a photo there together. Dylan handed me his phone and asked if I could take a photo of them, and he proposed! Caitlyn couldn’t believe that what she LITERALLY dreamed about just happened!
We took some photos around the chapel for a few minutes before driving down to Caesars Head State Park. While Pretty Place has an amazing view for sunrise, Caesars Head has an amazing view for sunset. We walked from the overlook through Devils Kitchen and the woods before the sun really started to set. We had the overlook almost to ourselves as the sun went down!
