Mikala and Grant eloped at Table Rock State Park, less than two hours after getting engaged at Caesars Head!
I’m actually publishing this a year later because this elopement was a secret and they had a big wedding a year later. Everyone knew they got engaged that day, but not that they were married. It’s been SO hard to not share these photos because Mikala and Grant are such a wonderful couple, they picked two of my favorite places, and they had a perfect September day.
Mikala and Grant live in the midlands of South Carolina, but they love the mountains. They chose Caesars Head for the proposal and Table Rock for the elopement–two of my favorite places in the whole state. It was pouring rain on the way up to Caesars Head, but it stopped right as we got there. We walked out to the overlook to see whether we could actually see anything–everything was silvery blue and very pale, but so beautiful. Right after it stopped raining, we staged the proposal at the overlook and saw a rainbow. After we took some photos around Caesars Head, Mikala and Grant changed clothes in the bathrooms and we headed to Table Rock to get them married!
Even though it was a Saturday evening in the fall, we barely saw anyone at the Table Rock visitor center, and nobody was there at all during the ceremony. It was just the four of us: Mikala, Grant, their friend who officiated, and me. It was completely silent as they read their vows in front of the water and Table Rock mountain. Since they decided that a wedding cake wasn’t really their thing, they got a wedding-themed charcuterie board from Savory Sister. As the sun went down over the water, we went over to the pier and played music over Mikala’s phone for their first dance. The three of them had a dinner reservation afterwards and went back to their Airbnb to chill for the rest of the night.
I’m also sharing a few photos of their album because I’m obsessed with the green cover and gold writing that they chose. It reminds me of fairytales or Celtic lore, and it goes so well with the scenery.
