South Carolina Mountain Engagement | Christina & Tyler

Christina and Tyler were engaged on a summer evening at Table Rock State Park!

Tyler originally wanted to propose to Christina at Pretty Place Chapel.  Given the unpredictability of the visitation schedule and crowds, and the short amount of time they would be in the area; he decided to choose a less complicated location that was still beautiful.  He chose the pier at Table Rock as the proposal location, and we would end the night with sunset photos at Caesars Head State Park.

Even though we checked the hourly forecast right up to a few hours beforehand, it randomly started pouring rain right before I made the turn into Table Rock State Park.  The sky was sunny the entire time it rained.  I always like to arrive before the couple, so I stood alone on the pier with my umbrella under a sunny sky, watching the millions of raindrops hit the lake around me.  It was pretty cool!  Eventually, the rain stopped for more than a minute, and Tyler and Christina came out of the car.  The good thing about rain is that it usually means we get the place to ourselves, which was no exception here.

Tyler and Christina are from Florida, where there are no mountains and the highest point is still under 400 feet, so this was a pretty huge change of scenery for them.  They’re already making plans to make another trip back and hike up the mountains in the park where they got engaged.  After the sun went down, they went back to their Airbnb to make a home-cooked meal with the ingredients they got that day from local farms.

Ready for the best day ever?

My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.

One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.

I can’t wait to meet you!
