Bailey and Ellis spent the weekend in Asheville with Bailey's parents. On their way back to Georgia, they got up super early so they could go to a sunrise church service at Pretty Place Chapel at Camp Greenville, a place they'd all been to before and loved. They told the security guard their names and said they were they had signed up for the sunrise service that day. Ellis thought that they'd gotten to the service early because only one other car was there (mine). When Bailey and Ellis got to the front of the chapel, Ellis went to take a picture on her phone, and Bailey got down on one knee. It turns out there was no sunrise service--it was all a ploy to get her to the chapel.
Bailey's mom had coordinated everything with me beforehand, so we texted each other every detail of the plan and texted back and forth about the weather forecast. This was right before summer solstice, so sunrise was around 6:15 that day, making it a really early morning. Is there a better way to start your day though? The clouds hovered over the hills behind the cross like a blanket as the sun started to come through, almost like a soundstage in an old movie. By the end of our time together, the thickest fog I've ever been in came through. I couldn't even see Bailey and Ellis clearly at the other end of the chapel, and my face felt wet. It almost looked like a white sheet behind the cross, and the fog in the woods felt like a fairytale.
Here are some of my favorite photos from Bailey and Ellis's engagement at YMCA Camp Greenville!

Ready for the best day ever?
My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.
One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.
I can’t wait to meet you!
