South Carolina Mountain Elopement | Rachel & Brett

When Rachel and Brett first reached out to me, they’d been legally married for a few weeks without telling anyone, but they didn’t know what else they wanted for their wedding.  As they told me about their ideas so far, I kept getting more and more excited.  They got legally married on a whim on Halloween.  They wanted mountains in their photos and they had some of the same favorite spots as me.  Brett wanted to wear a kilt.  Rachel wanted to wear a green and flowery dress.  Their first date was at Keipi, one of my favorite restaurants in Greenville.  Eventually, they decided that they didn’t want a wedding ceremony, just some photos to commemorate being married.  They chose to do their photos in the spring at Caesars Head and Table Rock.

When the day finally came, it was the most perfect April day:  temperatures in the 70s, partly cloudy, and a little breeze.  Both parks had pink flowers that matched Rachel’s dress.  At Caesars Head, we only saw a few people.  We watched the hawks flying over the mountains as we yelled at each other over the wind.  At Table Rock, we only saw one person.  It was much quieter there, and we watched the fish making ripples in the water as it reflected the sunset.

Rachel had a few things she loved about her dress.  It was colorful. It had pockets.  It spun perfectly.  She pointed out that Brett’s kilt could also spin, so we got some fun photos of them spinning around and laughing as the sun went down.

I hope you can feel the joy in Rachel and Brett’s wedding photos, and I hope they inspire you to do what you want on your wedding day. If you’re still looking for a photographer, read more about my elopement and engagement photography services!

Ready for the best day ever?

My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.

One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.

I can’t wait to meet you!
