Evan and Thomas were married in the South Carolina mountains with a small group of family members on a June afternoon.
They chose Thomas’s parents' mountain house as their venue for their early June wedding. The chairs were set up in the grass for the ceremony and a few long tables were set up on the porch for the reception. Evan got her hair and makeup done on the screened porch with Thomas by her side.
Evan thrifted a short white dress with colorful flowers. She paired this with light blue shoes. Both her shoes and her dress had big bows, one of her favorite things. The dress code was “garden party,” so the guests were all dressed colorfully.
The ceremony took place in front of the view of the mountains. Part of Thomas’s vows included a sonnet he wrote for Evan in iambic pentameter. This was full of references to their gardening adventures, which were metaphors for something bigger. Evan’s dad said a bee landed on his hand during the ceremony, which is one of Evan’s favorite animals.
After the ceremony, everyone went back to the porch for a fantastic lunch from Pride and Joy Provisions. Several family members, from the parents to the nieces, gave a speech with memories of Evan and Thomas and well wishes for them.

Ready for the best day ever?
My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.
One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.
I can’t wait to meet you!
