Brooke and Niko were married at a rental home in Oconee County, South Carolina, overlooking a waterfall.
I couldn't believe how cool this Airbnb looked when Brooke and Niko sent it to me, but it was unbelievable in person. It was raining when I arrived and the trees along the walkway to the house were so green. The house is made of mostly wood and glass, and it has some Pacific Northwest vibes. Between the style of the house, the amount of green in the trees, and the dark and rainy day, it really felt like the Twilight movie in the best possible way. Since so much of the house is glass, you can see the waterfall from most points in the house, and tons of natural light would come through on a sunny day.
Originally, we planned to do a first look after Brooke and Niko got ready, but they ended up needing help getting dressed, which still made for some really fun pictures! It was raining and thundering at the time of the ceremony, so we had the ceremony on the porch overlooking the waterfall. There was a small patch of the porch that seemed to have more cover from the trees, so they stood there to stay dry. After the ceremony, Brooke and Niko did some of the typical wedding day traditions, like popping champagne, cutting cake, and having a first dance. They had made a playlist for their wedding day full of super chill love songs, so it didn't matter to them which one was their first dance song. We walked a few minutes to both the bottom and top of the waterfall to take some photos. This was late September and the leaves had just begun to fall.
Brooke and Niko were so full of smiles and laughter the entire day. They said they loved how easy and relaxing their wedding day was--they could go with the flow, nobody was watching, and they were surrounded by both natural and manmade beauty. I had so much fun being part of their wedding day!

Ready for the best day ever?
My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.
One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.
I can’t wait to meet you!
