Backyard Engagement | Aislyn & Dan

Dan and Aislyn were engaged on a November night in their backyard!

Dan had asked me about doing photos for a proposal at their house. He said that it would have to be at night because they both work from home and there isn’t a lot of time where he’s at the house without Aislyn. He coordinated it so that she would be at her friend’s daughter’s volleyball game when I arrived, then he would decorate the house and the yard for when she came back. We coordinated how to set up lights to make sure we could see them in pictures without me using a flash and giving myself away.

I hid behind a shed and Dan sat in the living room in front of a trail of rose petals. The rose petals led to the back door, up the path leading to the pool, where Dan proposed. Aislyn started to piece together everything that hadn’t seemed right over the last few days: their cats were sniffing a package that Dan said was her Christmas present, but the package had rose petals, which she knows her cats like. Her friend had suggested wearing something nicer to the game so they could all go out for drinks afterwards, but Aislyn hadn’t realized there was a dinner reservation at Rick Erwin’s.

Ready for the best day ever?

My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.

One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.

I can’t wait to meet you!
