Tomson and Sarah were engaged on a beautiful fall day on Lake Keowee!
Tomson and Sarah were back in South Carolina for Clemson’s homecoming game, so they were staying at Tomson’s parents’ lake house at Lake Keowee. Sarah’s family had come to visit too, so they made a family weekend out of it. Tomson said he wanted to do it that weekend because it was homecoming, but he wanted to keep it separate from the football game. That way, they could tell everyone close to them on the day that it happened, and then share the news with any friends they ran into on the day of the game.
Their families made a dinner reservation, which gave Sarah and Tomson a reason to dress nicely, but they told Sarah they’d all be going out on the boat first. Tomson led Sarah down to the dock where he proposed, with their parents watching from the house. After Sarah said yes, their families came down to the pier for hugs and popping champagne. We took some photos around the lake and in the trees before everyone got into the boat and rode off into the sunset.
Clemson couples have a special place in my heart because Dan and I met at Clemson. It’s always fun to share stories about how we met and the places on campus that are special to us. Since they were both wearing their Clemson rings at the time, I got to take some photos of the three rings together. After several cold and rainy days, we ended October with a cool and sunny day with colorful trees. We got the most beautiful light through the trees, especially when the boat was on the water. Sarah’s beige dress went perfectly with all the fall colors and the golden hour light.

Ready for the best day ever?
My name is Christine (Scott) Gow and I’m an elopement photographer based out of Greenville, South Carolina. I’m a wife and a beagle mom. The three of us have visited beautiful places in every corner of South Carolina, to include all 48 of our state parks. We love finding new outdoor places to visit, but we also love hanging out on the couch and watching Pixar movies.
One thing I love about South Carolina is that it’s not just the beaches and colorful houses that you imagine when you picture it. Whether you’re looking for mountains, beaches, or anything in between; I can help you find the perfect place for the two of you and make it as smooth of a day as possible. No matter how you two choose to spend your day, I’m happy you’re doing it the way that you want.
I can’t wait to meet you!
